How to Use the Fly Trap Bag Begin by cutting the plastic along the dotted line on the top of the bag. Open the top cap to expose the trap entrance, and pour warm water below the marked water line. Hang the fly catcher outside. It typically takes 3 days for the bait to take effect in hot weather, and up to a week in cold weather.
